OUTWORDS is thrilled to announce our newest revamped interview collection, Trans Voices on Trans Healthcare. As with our previous collection, HIV/AIDS in the South, Trans Voices on Trans Healthcare animates our archive through a deeper dive into the context and history of this hot-button topic.

This collection, for better and worse, couldn’t be more timely. From Elizabeth Coffey-Williams and Jude Patton, who received gender-affirming surgeries in 1972, to Dr. Marci Bowers, the first openly trans surgeon to perform gender-affirming surgeries, our trans and gender non-conforming elders have been championing safe, respectful healthcare for decades.
